Take action and learn new skills with AD Knowledge

AD Knowledge for business

With over 10 million Deaf, Deafened and hard of hearing people in the UK, it is vital for any organisation to understand and embrace the importance of effective customer service and to provide a welcoming, inclusive working environment for all.

The Equality Act of 2010 places a duty on any organisation that provides a service or performs a public function to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ where a disabled person is at a substantial disadvantage when using its services or functions. Proactive organisations will be aware of this and have adequate provision and processes in place to ensure they offer equal access.

Our specialist team can provide comprehensive advice and bespoke Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language training packages at competitive prices to enhance your skills and services and help you to offer an inclusive, accessible environment for your staff and customers.

Furthermore, such training can enable your organization to meet its corporate social responsibility objectives, fostering a positive impact on stakeholders including employees, customers and the community at large.

British Sign Language (BSL)

We can also deliver bespoke non-accredited BSL short courses which offer a more flexible approach to learning BSL. This can include work based terminology unique to your organisation business needs.

These could be one off taster sessions or a short-term fixed length course which meet your requirements.

The aim of these client focused sessions is to introduce basic BSL, develop introductory signing skills and developing confidence when greeting and communicating with deaf people.

All sessions will be facilitated by a deaf person and a Certificate of Attendance can be awarded to all participants.

Our team is on hand to answer any questions you may have. To book Deaf Awareness training or BSL courses please call us on 0116 2533202 or email us at knowledge@actiondeafness.org.uk
