Action Deafness is a proud sponsor of local Deaf cultural events in Brighton!

Action Deafness currently supports the Deaf community in Sussex by providing BSL interpreting services to the Brighton & Hove Clinical Commissioning Group, the Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals (NHS) and work closely with DeafCOG to provide Personal Assistant services across Brighton and Sussex.  We also want to support the community in a wider sense by promoting Deaf culture and language.

As such Action Deafness is delighted to be able support Deaf Diaspora! in their series of events starting in September.

Deaf Diaspora! is an annual celebratory festival bringing the Deaf community, artists, and traders together in the spirit of furthering human and language rights.

Craig Crowley, CEO of Action Deafness, said:

“We want to support the local community in any way we can. We have had great success in delivering BSL interpreting services and supporting DeafCOG to develop their own new Personal Assistant services. It’s also wonderful to be able to support Deaf Diaspora!, who emphasise the strength of Deaf culture and diversity through arts and trading.”

Nadia Nadarajah – DeafCOG’s Arts Access Officer and Deaf Diaspora! Coordinator:

“We are delighted to receive more sponsorship from Action Deafness, this sponsorship will help the 8th cultural festival at the Brighton Dome be a resounding success.  We are looking forward to seeing how our theme, ‘Access to Arts’, will develop better access for our community.”
