A leading deaf-led charity, Action Deafness, along with its partners Deafkidz International, GDA, Zebra Access, Rare Rockets and Deaf & Hearing Trailblazers, are ready to kickstart the local job markets with a variety of exciting roles for young people!
Funded by the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), our Action Kickstart Project aims to recruit young people to join Deaf charities and gain work experience.
There has been an increase of 110% in unemployment related benefits for young people aged 18-24 since the pandemic began, according to the DWP. Action Deafness believes this rise will go even higher due to leavers coming through this summer so AD and their partners wish to do what they can to provide support.
Action Deafness and its partners are encouraging young people who are interested in this scheme, or who have expressed an interest, to contact their own local Job Centre Plus Work Coach.
This is a great opportunity for young people to join a deaf-led charity and get back into work following the recent pandemic – so please do get in touch if you would like to join the Action Deafness Kickstart project!
