Hello all
I am just sending this brief email to express our sorrow and condolences sadness on the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.
Our Queen had served the country, Commonwealth and the world for over 70 years – a truly remarkable milestone and achievement for her steadfast dedication and commitment to duty.
Many charities like Action Deafness, UK Deaf Sport have joined forces to pay such tribute for her lifetime service – a crowning achievement in a long and eventful life – and inspired many millions of people all over the world.
I wish to share that I was privileged and proud to have met Queen few times in my lifetime – recalling the MBE medal I duly received from Queen in 2006. We spoke for a few moments. ‘Ma’am’ was fascinated to see the BSL Interpreter standing next to me (which helped break down the accessibility barrier) and asked me directly in the eye about the importance of Sign Language, Deaf culture and Deaflympics which I took immense pleasure to answer, a memory to treasure forever.
We will never see the likes of Queen Elizabeth in our lifetimes. The second Elizabethan age is at end. An end of an era.
The age of King Charles III now begins.
Farewell, ‘Ma’am’.” Craig Crowley MBE FRSA
