Action Deafness has been working in the North-East region through a partnership with Rare Rockets for the last five years. This collaboration has led to a new community & personal assistant (PA) service which Rare Rockets now supports.
The latest new contract with Durham County Council will see Action Deafness delivering high quality services for the next three years.
The awarded contract is now live and will provide outreach support workers, lip speakers and other professionals to support Deaf people and people with sensory needs as part of the contract.
Durham Deaf/Sensory Support Services will continue to be delivered face-to-face and remote with a greater emphasis on information & guidance and floating support. Deaf people will be able to contact services and attend the weekly meetings across County Durham.
Craig Crowley, Action Deafness CEO, said: “We are delighted to be the selected provider for this contract with Durham County Council. We believe that high quality services enable Deaf people to live their lives to the full. We look forward to developing the services further as we support the Deaf community. We are also looking forward to a new partnership initiative with Rare Rockets that will support even more beneficiaries in the future.”
