Action Deafness and DEAFvibe UK are pleased to announce that DEAFvibe UK will be joining Action Deafness from the 1st of October 2023.

DEAFvibe UK is a Community Interest Organisation that has operated in Staffordshire for the past 13 years. In 2014, DEAFvibe was awarded The Queens Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) in recognition of their work.

Action Deafness (AD) is a Deaf-led charitable organisation which provides a range of services to the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deafened and Deafblind communities throughout the UK. AD has been working in Staffordshire during the last few years providing commissioned Community & Care Services and Deafblind Communicator Guide services.

DEAFvibe’s established services in Staffordshire will remain unchanged. The highly successful monthly “Cafe DEAFvibe” sessions will continue and will be managed by AD’s Hub Connect services. AD is working on exciting service developments in Staffordshire and more information on this will follow soon.

Alison (Ali) France, Founder and Trustee of DEAFvibe, said: “I am very proud of DEAFvibe’s achievements over the years. I am also very pleased AD will continue to support the monthly Cafes and information sessions at Bradwell Lodge Community Centre in Newcastle Under Lyme. For me, it is vital that Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deafened and Deafblind people as well as their families, friends and carers see services develop and grow throughout Staffordshire as a whole.”

Craig Crowley – CEO of Action Deafness said – “AD and DEAFvibe have very similar values and ethos; a desire to support the local deaf communities. Through Hub Connect, we look forward to expanding the services available to the community in Staffordshire. More importantly, DEAFvibe will retain its name because it is a loved and well respected brand across the region.”

As part of the process, Action Deafness is further delighted that Alison France has accepted a position on the AD Board of Trustees so DEAFvibe’s interests across Staffordshire will continue to be represented within the organisation and this should give much reassurance to Friends of DEAFvibe.
