Alison is profoundly Deaf and has significant experience in the areas of deafness, disability, discrimination & equality. She was also the first ‘Deaf’ person to qualify as an Audiologist in the NHS in England & Wales.

William was previously a Trustee of Deaf Direct, serving as the Chair for eleven years. He continues to work as a Freelance BSL Tutor and is based in Malvern, Worcestershire.

Currently a Founding Trustee of Deaf Scots Trust and a Trustee of Dystonia UK where he suffers from cervical dystonia himself. He has had a varied career working in a leadership capacity across the voluntary, social care and private sector. He is currently the Chief Officer at Wakefield and District Society for Deaf People.

Alison is profoundly Deaf. She is the Sensory Operational Lead based within the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) / Staffordshire County Council. Alison founded DEAFvibe UK (Staffordshire) in 2010 and has been a Trustee for 14 years. She is an experienced leader within health & social care for Deafness, Sight loss and Deafblindness. Access to information, communication and language is close to Alison’s heart and she is passionate about inclusion, accessibility and equity for all.

Clare is deaf, qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant, and has previous experience as a trustee at a Deaf organisation. This experience has fuelled her passion for advocating for every deaf person’s ease of access to various services without any obstacles. With a strong social ethos, she is excited to support Action Deafness in growing its services to the Deaf Community.
Action Deafness would like to thank Signapse who hove kindly translated our home page. Signapse are a team of Deaf and hearing people; entrepreneurs, engineers and researchers. They build artificial intelligence solutions for clients who want access to sign language translation and interpretation.
Lucy brings lived experience as a deaf BSL user as well as professional expertise from working for a range of voluntary organisations. She is currently Director of Engagement at SignHealth where she has strategic leadership for fundraising, business development, communications, campaigns, policy and public affairs.
