We provide highly trained communication professionals to facilitate communication in any situation to empower Deaf people to access services.
SERVICES INCLUDE:
British Sign Language Interpreters: Transfer meaning from a spoken language into a sign language and vice versa
Lipspeakers: Repeat spoken messages using facial expressions, natural gestures and fingerspelling to support communication for people who lipread
Deaf Translators: Transfer meaning from a written language into a sign language or from a sign language into a written language. Conveying meaning from British Sign Language into other forms of sign language meeting the individual needs of the person
Speech-to-Text Reporters (STTRs): Provide real time written (captions) account of what is being said in a meeting for Deaf people
Note Takers: Provide a summarised written account of what is said in a meeting for Deaf people
Interpreters for Deafblind People: Interpret information from a spoken language into the Deafblind Manual alphabet, Visual Frame, Hands On signing or other methods of communication meeting the needs of the Deafblind person
Remote Interpreting through Digital/Virtual ways: Sign Language interpreters on a screen – laptop/computer
OUR COMMUNICATIONS INTERPRETING PROVIDERS CAN ASSIST YOU IN DERBYSHIRE WITH ADULT SOCIAL CARE AND PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES for:
- Adult care assessments and support plans
- Occupational therapy appointments
- Health-based activities e.g. weight management, stop smoking or drug & alcohol support
- Appointments for Deaf parents ie Schools’ Parents evenings
- Limited support for legal, banking, housing
