Volunteer Youth Worker in Derby

Action Deafness (AD) has an exciting opportunity for a passionate, energetic and enthusiastic Volunteer Youth Worker to join our team in Derby.

This role will entail supporting sessions with children aged 12-18 years on a Monday evening, twice a month. You will be supported by other members of the AD team to oversee a set plan of activities. Initially this will be for a 6-session period but with potential to be extended further along with an increased number of sessions.

We are looking for someone to support the children in the activities which make up the Hub programme – with support from the wider team at AD.

You will –

  • Ideally hold a relevant professional qualification in youth work / young persons’ services or have at least 2 years’ relevant youth and / or community work based similar experience.
  • Have experience of successfully working with parents / families, customers and community stakeholders to deliver youth and / or community-based provisions.
  • Have some skills or desirable experience such as British Sign Language and / or other communication techniques.
