Senior Support Worker / Intervenor - Central Hertfordshire

Senior Support Worker / Intervenor - Central Hertfordshire Area

Looking for a new challenge?

We are now looking for Senior Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the Hertfordshire area, working across various locations such as St Albans & Welwyn Garden City.

Our Intervenors work 1:1 with children and adults who were born deafblind known as congenital Deafblindness, often with other complex needs, working with them and their family or carers to develop a way of communicating.

Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.

You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals who are congenitally deafblind, often combined with other disabilities.

(Adult) St Albans – 2 hours per week

Looking to help someone live the life they choose? Are you in or able to access the St Albans area for 2-4hrs per week.

We have an individual who requires a tactile sensory approach who enjoys sensory activities and problem solving through puzzles, they also enjoy being independent with support to manage daily tasks such as making their own drinks and snacks.

(Child) St Albans – 8 hours per week

You will be working towards supporting the children to enable them to enjoy play and learning through the development of everyday skills such as turn-taking and gaining independence in new environments.

One child requires support up to twice a week for 4hrs after school, these 4hrs would be delivered via 2 visits per week for 2hrs each.

The second child requires support twice a week, for 2hrs per visit, they enjoy exploring their own vocalisations, intensive interaction and exploring toys and how they operate.

(Young Adult) Welwyn Garden City – 6 hours per week

We have a young adult who requires support in the half terms in the Welwyn Garden City Area, they enjoy pampering sessions, cooking and trying new activities. If you already have experience with Braille, or if you are interested in learning about Braille, we would like to hear from you.

(Child) Welwyn Garden city – 2 to 4 hours per week

Within this post you will provide support up to 6 hours per week, depending on your suitability / availability. You will be working on a 1:1 basis, supporting a child who requires support every weekend for 4hrs. They are also looking for support for 2hrs after school, during the weekdays.  Do you have an interest for the approach of intensive interaction, do you have a flare for sensory activities and promoting communication through pictures/photos.
