Meet our Volunteer: Katie

"I wanted to volunteer after finishing my BSL Level 3 course because I wanted to be more involved in the Deaf Community, become more Deaf aware, and continue learning!"

This inspiring volunteer found Action Deafness through work at a GP practice and soon joined TeamAD most Tuesdays. Our staff quickly made the volunteer feel welcome, helping them to settle in.

They've already learned so much about the issues, barriers, and experiences Deaf people face, and how Action Deafness helps break down those barriers. "Every time is different! I meet different people, learn new information and signs. I'm enjoying the new experience and learning journey!"
